Multiple dental implants
in Kallangur

Several missing teeth, replaced with fixed teeth

Multiple dental implants replace two, three or more lost teeth with fixed teeth you do not take out at night. At Kallangur Dental Surgery, Dr Zaheer Kadwa works out whether separate implants or an implant bridge suits your gaps, often using fewer implants than there are missing teeth, and explains the plan at a free consultation.

Implant care in Moreton Bay

Multiple teeth implants for Kallangur and nearby suburbs

Losing several teeth can make chewing awkward, shift your bite and leave you self-conscious when you smile. A removable partial plate is one answer, but many people find it loose, bulky or hard to get used to.

Multiple teeth implants give you fixed replacements instead. Kallangur Dental Surgery treats patients from Kallangur, North Lakes, Mango Hill, Narangba and around the Moreton Bay region, with each case planned from scans so the implants sit where your bone is strongest. Dr Zaheer Kadwa, who has placed more than 4000 implants across Australia, leads every implant plan at our Anzac Avenue clinic.

How many you need

Do I need one implant per missing tooth?

Usually not. Each implant is strong enough to support more than one replacement tooth, so the number of implants is set by the shape of your gaps and your bone rather than a simple count.

  • Two teeth next to each other - two single implants, or a small implant bridge
  • Three or four teeth in a row - often an implant bridge on two implants
  • Gaps scattered around the arch - separate implants, or an implant-retained partial denture
  • Most or all teeth in one jaw - a full fixed arch on four implants with All-On-4

Your 3D scan shows where the bone can take an implant, so you only pay for the implants your mouth needs.

Choosing the approach

Implant bridge or individual implants?

Individual implants give each tooth its own root, which makes cleaning between them simple and means one tooth can be repaired on its own later. They suit gaps that are separated by healthy teeth.

An implant bridge joins several teeth into one piece held on fewer implants. It usually needs less surgery and costs less than an implant under every tooth, and it suits a run of missing teeth in a row. Cleaning under it takes a water flosser or bridge floss. Dr Kadwa shows you both on your scan so you can compare.

How it works

How treatment works for several teeth

Replacing a row of teeth rarely means an implant under every tooth. Two implants at either end can carry a bridge of three, which means a fixed result with less surgery. These are the stages.

01

Measuring the gap

At your free consultation we take photographs, an OPG X-ray and, where needed, a 3D cone-beam scan to measure the gap and the bone beneath it. Dr Kadwa decides how many implants the span needs and where each one goes, and you leave with a written plan.

02

Implant placement

The implants are placed in one appointment under local anaesthetic, and sedation can be arranged. For a bridge they sit at each end of the span so they share the chewing load.

03

Healing and connectors

Over around three to six months the bone bonds to each implant. When they are firm, abutments are attached and the gum settles neatly around them.

Bridge or crowns fitted

Your implant bridge or crowns are made to match the shade and shape of your remaining teeth, then fixed onto the abutments. They stay in place, and you clean around them rather than removing them.

Good to know

Multiple Tooth Implants - frequently asked

How much do multiple dental implants cost?

The cost depends on how many implants are needed, whether they carry individual crowns or a bridge, and whether bone grafting is required. Because an implant bridge can replace three teeth on two implants, it often costs less than an implant per tooth. You receive an itemised written quote after your free consultation.

Do I need one implant per missing tooth?

No. Two implants can often carry a bridge of three or four teeth, and four implants can hold a full arch. The number is decided by where your gaps are and how much bone is there, which your scans show.

Implant bridge or individual implants?

Individual implants suit gaps separated by healthy teeth and are easy to clean between. An implant bridge suits several teeth in a row and usually needs fewer implants and less surgery. Dr Kadwa compares both for your case at the consultation.

How long does treatment take for several implants?

The implants are generally placed in one appointment, even when there are several. The bone then needs around three to six months to bond before the final teeth go on, so most cases run four to nine months overall. A temporary can often be provided so you are not without teeth in the meantime.

Are implants better than a partial denture?

Implant teeth are fixed, so they do not move when you eat or speak, and they help preserve the jawbone. A partial denture costs less at the start but can feel loose and does not stop bone shrinking. We explain both honestly, including costs, so you can choose.

What if my missing teeth are not next to each other?

A bridge needs a continuous gap, so scattered gaps are usually treated with separate single implants. The healthy teeth between them are left alone.

Do I have enough bone for multiple implants?

Bone slowly shrinks after teeth are lost, so the longer a gap has been there, the more it may have receded. Your OPG X-ray and 3D scan measure it precisely. If it is thin, bone grafting can rebuild the area first, adding a few months to treatment.

Is the procedure painful?

It is done under local anaesthetic, with sedation available, so the procedure itself should not hurt. Most people find the few days afterwards easier than they expected, with some swelling and tenderness that settles with ordinary pain relief.
