Is it right for you?

Am I a candidate for All-On-4®?

All-On-4 is designed for people who have lost most or all of the teeth in one or both jaws, whose remaining teeth are beyond saving, or who are unhappy with a full denture.

You need to be in reasonable general health, and any gum disease or infection is treated before surgery. Because the back implants are angled, All-On-4 often works even where some bone has been lost. Conditions such as uncontrolled diabetes or heavy smoking can affect healing, so Dr Kadwa reviews your medical history and scans before recommending it.

Aftercare

How do you clean All-On-4® implants?

Your bridge stays in, so you clean it in place. Brush the teeth and the gum line twice a day with a soft brush, and use a water flosser or special floss to clean underneath the bridge where food can gather.

We see you for regular maintenance visits, and from time to time the bridge is unscrewed so the implants and gums can be cleaned thoroughly. Looking after the gum around each implant is what keeps the whole arch secure for years.

The basics

What is All-On-4®?

All-On-4® is a way of replacing every tooth in one jaw using just four implants. The two front implants stand upright, and the two at the back are tilted so they reach denser bone and avoid structures such as the sinus.

A single custom bridge of teeth is then screwed onto those four points. It stays in all day and night, you clean it rather than remove it, and because the angled implants make the most of the bone you have, many patients avoid a bone graft that separate implants would need.

Free consultation and 3D planning

Dr Kadwa examines your mouth, takes photographs and an OPG X-ray, and arranges a 3D cone-beam scan to measure your bone. If All-On-4 suits you, you receive a written plan covering implant positions, bridge material, timeline, fees and payment choices. The consultation costs nothing.

Surgery day and temporary teeth

Any remaining failing teeth are removed and the four implants are placed in the same visit, under local anaesthetic or with sedation. Within a few days a fixed temporary bridge is attached, so you are not left without teeth while the implants heal.

Healing period

Over the following months the bone bonds firmly to all four implants. You eat a softer diet at first and come in for reviews so we can check the gums and the fit of the temporary bridge.

Permanent bridge fitted

Once the implants are fully bonded, your permanent bridge is made in acrylic-titanium or zirconia, shaped for your face, lip line and bite, and screwed into place. We then set up regular maintenance visits to keep it in good condition.

What is All-On-4?

All-On-4 is a full-arch treatment where four implants, two upright and two angled, hold a complete fixed bridge of teeth. It replaces all the teeth in one jaw without an implant for every tooth, and the bridge stays in rather than coming out like a denture.

How long do All-On-4 implants last?

The implants are designed to last many years and often decades when the gums are kept healthy. The bridge on top wears with use, and an acrylic bridge may need refurbishing or replacing sooner than zirconia. Regular maintenance visits help both last as long as possible.

Is All-On-4 painful?

How do you clean All-On-4 implants?
